Place Technology inside Your Golf Bag with a Golf GPS Caddie

By: Glenn Jostad

Every golfer has been there. You just crushed your drive straight down the fairway. You are standing in the fairway thinking birdie. You look around for the nearest yardage indicator. Ultimately you see one some yards ahead therefore you pace it off. So now you do the math and figure you have 175 yards to the heart of the green and from your prospective it appears like the pin is about 10 yards further about 15 feet from the back edge. You pull your favorite club for 185 yards and take dead aim. You hit it great, it looks like it's directly at the pin. You saunter after it and wait for it to come down tight to the pin. Oh no, you hit it right over the flag and off the rear of the green. You had the incorrect yardage to the pin. As soon as you step to your ball, instead of being nestled up tight to the pin, you are sitting right next to a stunning oak tree. You take your drop and now you are hopeful for a bogey and not a double bogey.
Or, what about those times when you take dead aim at the pin located on the side of the green, merely to slightly mishit and end up off the edge of the green. Then as you come close to the green you see the stream running next to the green that you didn't see previously from your prospective. If you had known it was present you would have been aiming for the center of the green and been okay.
So what is the solution to these troubles. You need to invest in a golf GPS caddie. If you had one in your bag, neither of those previous situations would have happened. With a golf GPS caddie you would have had the correct yardage in place of of guessing and making a bad calculation. These devices obtain your location by satellite and have most courses mapped and in their database. They also show you the landmarks that exist on the hole you are playing, like a stream off the edge of the green.
Do yourself a favor and invest in your favorite golf GPS caddie. Be sure and look at the features and benefits of every model. There are a lot of units offered at several price points depending on the features you want.
